Musa L. Speranza, MD, FACOG

Dr. Speranza grew up in New Jersey. She is named after her maternal grandmother. She is a graduate of Oberlin College where she studied performance oboe and neuroscience. She then attended Albert Einstein College of Medicine and moved to Connecticut to do her residency at Yale New Haven Hospital and has lived here ever since.

Dr. Speranza practices general obstetrics and gynecology but has particular interest in menopause and laparoscopic surgery. She is a member of the North American Menopause Society and the Society for Laparoendoscopic Surgeons. Her interest in menopause dates back to medical school when she was involved in menopause and estrogen research.

Dr. Speranza lives in New Haven with her two children and her husband, Dr. Joseph Shin, who is an assistant professor in the department of Plastic and Reconstructive surgery at Yale University School of Medicine.
